A
very nice winter day a Kagel. I flew for as long as I wanted to. I could have
easily flown another hour or so. I had fun doing turns and reversals just to
kill altitude coming out to land. I went out and back to Lance's, Towers, and
The 2200. So, if I count these as waypoints in an out-and-return task, I racked
up about 14 miles.
This
was my first authorized landing on the Hang 4 runway (since I am recently a Hang
4). You can see the abrupt maneuver as I turned to final. That was when I
noticed I was crossing the stay-out line (orange cones). The GPS was recording
every second, so that is a snappy 90-degree turn, folks. From there, I was short
and probably too slow over the Sylmar Triangle. I just cleared the walk-up ramp
and did a no-step landing on the edge of the LZ. I was 114 feet short of the
Hang 4 spot. Nonetheless, I was quite happy with my landing.
